It was a dream of
Bensalem High School (Pa.) basketball team manager, Kevin Grow, to lace up the sneakers and play a game for the Owls. After all, Grow is an 18-year-old with down syndrome who has been behind the bench for four years, but never actually stepped on the court to play a game - that is, until last Friday, when he was inserted into the lineup and hit a foul shot and layup. But that was just the beginning.
A night later, on Senior Day, Grow was put into the lineup in the final minutes of a game against Neshaminy High School and what he did was amazing. Grow hit four 3-pointers in less than two minutes, including one at the buzzer. Here is a fan made video of the performance. The fan reaction is priceless:
The performance was so impressive, it made its way to one of ESPN's top highlights:
Grow should be an inspiration to all of us. Great job, Kevin!
