California School for the Deaf football team wins league title

Each and every week, teams from around the nation strategize on how to overcome weaknesses and obstacles to ultimately achieve success. But rarely do those obstacles ever come in the form of playing without a basic human sense. In the case of the California School for the Deaf football team, their obstacle is obvious. According to the Fremont Argus, the varsity football team finished their season with a 10-2 record. And in the process, amazingly, the Eagles won the North Central II/Bay League title. That, in and of itself, is truly inspiring. This was the Eagles' best season ever, and they did so against teams with no such disadvantages. What a great story to head in to your weekend!
