All 13-year-old Jared Stevens of Sunset Middle School ever wanted to do was participate in his very first wrestling match. Many thought it would never happen, though. Not because he wasn't talented enough or too small, but because he suffered from cerebral palsy - a debilitating disease.
This all changed during a Brentwood, Tennessee wrestling match when Justin Kievit, a wrestler from Freedom Middle School, produced one of the most poignant displays of sportsmanship you will ever see. After Stevens was placed on the mat, Kievit wrapped Jared's arm around his own body to give Stevens the pin - a very touching scene, as displayed in the video below.
Despite Steven's disease, he participates in practices and is a vocal leader in the locker room. As far as Kievit goes, though, the kid has a huge heart.
